Silas Nello @ The Greys
a double bill evening of music that'll delight you.
You'll know Neil Bob Herd as the longtime right hand man to Sid Griffin in The Coal Porters, which showcased his musical talents. He has played in many a band, spent a season in the Hank Williams 'Pills ,Thrills & Backaches'. Distinctly Scots, yet infused with country, rock and bluegrass, he's dug in in Kent, where Mr Herd has put together a band to play the music that he has been creating with:
Paul Fitzgerald - Telejo & Vocals
Glenn Lamberton - Bass & Vocals
Gary Smith Lyons - Drums & tailoring
Gemma White - Fiddle & harmony
Billy Muir - Special percussive menu
We've been trying to fix a time for him to bring it here and unveil a new sound and a new Kickstarter album, 'Every Soul A Story', at The Greys.- well, here we are and here it is...
Silas Nello emerges from Dallas / Fort Worth Texas, oozing alt-country rock'n'roll and soft, poetic, acoustic ballads with a Southern vibe, distinct traces of Gram Parsons, niftily constructed songwriting and armfulls of his own personality.
He's here with his band, aiming to break into the UK scene and I, for one, am happy to help Mr Nello's rise to prominence.
'...a rising star in the DFW music scene. Barefoot in black jeans, with blue-tinted sunglasses hanging from the open collar of his red-and-white polka dot dress shirt, Nello is the picture of a 1970s rocker born too late an image his music reflects.' Dallas Observer
Packed with fresh music to savour and enjoy in the intimate space of The Greys.
